- The Philippine tarsier, is very peculiar small animal. In fact it is one of the smallest known primates, no larger than an adult men's hand. Mostly active at night, it lives on a diet of insects.
- The Philippines is regarded the “text capital of the world”. About 350 to 400 million SMS (Short Message Service) or text messages are sent daily by 35 million cell phone subscribers in the country.
- The first solar powered tunnel in the country can be seen in Boni Tunnel, Mandaluyong City.
- Hundreds of residents in Loreto, Agusan del Sur were bewildered as fish fell from the sky during a heavy downpour,the residents claimed that it was the first time that such an incident had been observed.

- Araneta Coliseum is one of the largest clear span dome in the world and the largest indoor facility in Southeast Asia with a dome diameter of one hundred and eight (108) meters. It occupies a total land area of almost four (4) hectares and has twenty-three hundred (2,300) square meter floor area.
- Balut is a fertilized duck embryo that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Popularly believed to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty snack, balut are mostly sold by street vendors in the regions where they are available.
- Maria Cristina Falls is the highest waterfall in the country. A waterfall of the Agus River on the island of Mindanao. It is sometimes called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall
